Danielle graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Juris Doctor degree in 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in ‘Law & Society’ and ‘Marketing’ in 2014.
After obtaining her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2018 with the College of Law, she was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in December 2018. In 2019 Danielle was also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia.
While studying, Danielle gained experience working in a Community Legal Centre, focusing on assisting clients with both family law and civil law issues, as well as from working in two boutique family law firms. Danielle was awarded the Honourable Serge Ferrier Bursary for her strong interest in Family Law by her university. Danielle also gained experience working in the litigation team of a large West Australian commercial law firm, which expanded her legal research skills into areas such as intellectual property, defamation and corporate law. Danielle has also interned as a legal assistant in China for a small commercial firm, focusing on contract law and foreign investment.
After graduating university, Danielle worked at a global commercial law firm in both the litigation team and corporate team for a period of 3 years. Danielle acquired experience working on complex, large-scale international construction disputes and frequently travelled overseas and interstate for such work. Danielle also acquired experience working on large commercial mergers & acquisitions of corporations and knowledge of the law relating to trading securities on the Australian Stock Exchange (‘ASX’), as she worked with many ASX listed clients.
Danielle joined Thomson Family Lawyers in July 2020, to pursue a career in Family Law, as this is where her passion lies. She practices in all areas of Family Law, such as parenting matters, divorce and property settlement, spousal maintenance and recovery applications. Danielle also takes instructions in relation to Care and Protection matters in the Children’s Court and Restraining Order matters.
Danielle provides a compassionate and cost-conscious approach to working with clients and her commercial law background is particularly helpful when working on complex property settlement matters.
