Emily graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2018. After obtaining her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in early 2019, Emily was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in July 2019.

During her studies, Emily established a strong interest in family law. Upon completion of her degree, Emily obtained work for a boutique law firm which practised predominantly in the area of family law, and it was during this time, that Emily became passionate about assisting clients with navigating the emotional and overwhelming area that is family law. Whilst working for this boutique law firm, Emily was able to further her understanding and experience within the area of family law and develop a sound understanding of the relevant legal principles, practices, and procedures.

Emily joined Thomson Family Lawyers in October 2021. She practises in all areas of family law including matters involving divorce, property settlement, de facto relationships, care arrangements for children, relocation, child support matters and spousal maintenance. Emily also assists clients in Family Violence Restraining Order matters before the Magistrates Court. Emily has a particular interest in parenting cases and has extensive experience assisting clients with investigating and resolving complex parenting issues.

Emily’s focus, as a family lawyer, is to communicate practical resolutions to her clients, and to assist her clients in reaching practical and cost-effective resolutions to their family law disputes.
